What Are We Willing To Trade For A “Smart City”?
Our most recent wave of the Focus GTA study revealed that previous optimism has faded in the face of rising concerns surrounding “smart cities”.
This semi-annual syndicated research study provides comprehensive insight into the most important issues facing municipalities across the GTA. The understanding gained from this recurring study is key to helping public, private, and non-profit sectors accurately understand public opinions across the Greater Toronto Area.
Every spring and fall, a representative sample of 1,000 GTA residents are surveyed online. The sample is distributed to be proportional to population size at the lower-tier municipal level and the results of each survey are estimated to be accurate to within plus or minus 3.1 percentage points, 19 times out of 20.
Focus GTA is an essential tool for decision-makers who need to understand the attitudes and priorities of Greater Toronto Area residents. This survey, which has existed for more than 30 years, provides community-level insights, regional benchmarks, and public opinion trends over the past decade regarding a wide range of relevant topics, including:
